Once, a long time ago, there was this crazy storm where lots of people died, mountains were crushed into sand and some dude discovered how to turn iron into steel…
And much, much later, on a very unrelated note, I started a blog. Yes. Yet another darn blog from yet another hopeful-minded writer.
My name is Calissa (yes, real name) and I currently live in Lafayette, LA. I am not a native. Rather, a former wayfarer who just happened to crash land among the Cajuns, and discovered I really did like the location.
It wasn’t too long ago that I moved nearly every six months to a year. I don’t know what I was looking for. I used to think I was looking for home. Maybe I’ve found it. Maybe I discovered that most places aren’t that different from each other, because they all have a personality, a culture, and a cuisine.
But Cajuns have all three of those on a whole different level than I’ve found anywhere else in the United States. It’s nearly like living in a different country (as far as I know, I’ve never been outside the US) and after having lived here for a little over a year, I’m still discovering new things all the time.
Where I live and what’s around me isn’t all I’m interested in. I love cooking. I try to write when I find time. I recently signed up to go to the local university (University of Louisiana in Lafayette) for a physics degree.
I love video games, from World of Warcraft to Plants vs. Zombies. You can’t beat a good book or movie, and I love all sorts. I’ll probably post a few reviews and tips from games I love, or books I read.
I try to blog about whatever I’m interested in at the time. When I’m passionate about something, I’ll talk all about it. So if I’m going to study physics, get ready for a physics lesson.
Things I write about:
Why SEO is a Silly Idea, and Why I Write for These Companies Anyway
Calories and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Side Effects
Crazy Stuff I Found on the Internet (or, Why I No Longer Go Out in Public)
Way More Amazing Stuff than I Could Possibly Write Here.
I don’t know why I’ve posted a blog. I’ve had several over the years, and recently this one was wiped clean. Yet I’m back and trying to do it again. Does there need to be a reason? I blog for me. A reference to my current obsessions and a reminder of why I do what I do.
I try not to ego massage this blog too much. I just like the reference source I have to post anything I find interested or useful, like recipes, web sites, tools and maybe a video of a dog singing along to a piano player. LOL Cat photo thefting is likely.
