Highlights of the festival.

The Cajun
This guy clued me in on all the things to do at Festival, what there was, what things meant.
Foods tried: Boudin, Shrimp Poboy, Jambalaya. I think there might have been more but I forget by now.

Scene International At Festival
This was one of six stages that were set up all around downtown Lafayette. Here’s another one.

Fais Do Do
There was a mini Mardi Gras Parade (video coming soon in another post), an Indian storyteller that was interesting, French puppets…

French Puppets
The following picture is just for Anthony Bourdain worthy-ness of any place I go.

Meat
And the following is for pure amusement, a rickshaw(n).

Very sorry for the poor quality of the photos, I only had my cell phone. I’ll look into getting a better camera sometime.
So that was my weekend. Festival International at Lafayette, LA in 2009. It was fun, had a good time. I think the Cajun had too good of a time.
Maybe we’ll be at the festival next year.

I’ve been away at Festival International. Yay for me, bad for blog. Didn’t have time to update.
Latest from my side:
No growth from bonsai yet.
Have pictures of the Festival to share.
Read The 4 Hour Work Week. I’ll share my thoughts on that later.
Still have library photos to upload and share.
New project this week, I think it’s going to be rechargable LED light. I need to order parts. If I don’t do that this week, I’ll do some other short project in the mean time. Maybe floating book shelf.
Ok… I think that’s it this week. Festival was a blast, I’ll share those pictures and what videos I have of that in this blog later.

I’ve not posted actually interesting things. Forgive. Sorry. Really. I’ve had a couple of days of work and message board drama and crazy nonsense going on.
Crushing imagination, right? When life gets nuts, you can’t focus on the good things sometimes.
Bonsai tree seeds are still in the fridge. I’ll be moving those out Sunday. So interesting things coming up…
I’ll come up with other regular things to share with people later.

It’s an off day. It’s only 9 am, but it is an off day. I can tell. You just get that feeling inside you that not everything is going to go with your master plan.
Some days, it’s good to just give up while you’re ahead, right? I’m going to go sink into video games and movies today. Just for fun.
I don’t like these sorts of days. I don’t, I don’t.
*throws cell phone across the room* Blargh. Stop calling.

How could anyone be too old for an Easter basket? I’ve got one right here.

Easter Basket
Bam. There you go. Actually Tabby made one for everyone living here. Very nice, isn’t it? She had it looking even nicer but I had dug into it before thinking to take a picture of it.
Is that lame to take a photo of it? I don’t know.
But here, look at this:

Aero?
What’s that? Something new. Aero, the chocolate with little air bubbles? I’m not going to try that today, but I probably will tomorrow or sometime…
Air bubbles in candy though. Really? There’s a milk chocolate and a mint one… For some reason it makes me think there might be Poprock like feel to it. Who knows?

In one of the forums I frequent, one of the conversations started out as a discussion about a particular work at home job. They were discussing the details, questioning the legitimacy of the company… all typical when discovering a new opportunity.
When someone started a rumor that they might be offering only $4.50 an hour for work, it turned into a rather interesting debate.
Some people believed that some money is better than nothing. They wanted to take on the work, and hopefully find better work in the future, all the while earning just $4.50 an hour.
Some, including me, wanted to say they were bottom feeders and that, being that they were a United States company, they should be ashamed of offering low wages. They should increase the wage. People should look for work somewhere else.
Those willing to work rebutted that if they didn’t take the job, someone else will. Someone else would be making the money they could have made.
This is an ongoing argument in the work at home world. All industries, I think, probably have this problem as well.
We all mean well. We want people to earn what they are worth. We, personally, don’t care what others do to earn a living, as long as they are honest with themselves and others.
I don’t think this is an argument that anyone could win. Not ever.
When discussions come up, things get heated. Some people feel ashamed that they want to take the work at home jobs with the lower rates, simply because it was offered. They don’t like others pulling out those feelings by arguing that they should work for someone who would pay them more.
We can’t control others, I know. It stirs up a lot of emotions. It makes you feel powerless. As much as I am moved to want to help someone else earn more, so they can live easier and without stress, I can’t control others and what they do.
I’m a problem solver. It irks me that I can’t come up with a reasonable answer for people. It troubles me that I want a simple conclusion. It doesn’t appear to have a direct answer.
Or maybe it does, and I haven’t discovered it yet. I might do some research…

Mr Bean – Library
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyDY0hiMZy8]
I just got out of an interview for a library position. I’m all excited. The library I went to was absolutely beautiful. It was a different branch than the one I normally go to. I really liked it though and thought it was a great place.
I love the library, almost as much as Mr. Bean.

Getting an F in Biology is a rather amusing article. About boobs. Big ones.
Made me giggle.

I feel like I’ve slept all day today. Probably because I’ve been in front of a computer for most of it. Is this what it was like for all those years I spent bent over a desk just trying to crunch out pages?
So I changed my desktop to something more “Hitchhiker’s”. It’s neat looking now.
Marvin’s cute.
I visited a few new message boards today, and spent a lot of time at a Geek chat room. It’s interesting, I’ll probably be back there. I’m expanding the scope of how I use the web. So much web… not enough time…
Anyway, time for me to get off the web to recover from a day of using it. Wow.
