I have turned comments off, but I want to turn them all back on. The problem is that when I turn on comments, I get spam. You don’t see them, but I do. It usually happens when one of my blog posts ends up on the search engines.
I think that’s how it works. Anyway, people will spam their links, thinking it’ll automatically go through. It doesn’t. I have to approve all comments. In the mean time, the spammers just spam my inbox. I get hundreds a week, not just from this site but other blogs I own.
So, I’ve tried ways to deal with it, but it hasn’t worked. Programs I’ve installed either just don’t function or give errors.
So if anyone has any tips on how to deal with the spam, I’d love to hear from you. I’m turning comments on in this post. I’ll probably turn on comments and then if one post seems to be getting spam, I’ll turn comments off on that particular post. I’ll post a little ‘no comments due to spam’ thing when I do. I guess.
At least until I can find another way!
