First Person Blues

I decided that the novel I am working on right now will sound better if I actually write it in first person. Yikes.

So I’m doing the re-write, and it’s going along smoothly. I just hope I don’t have a stroke of smarts later and decide to go with third person. Or that an agent or publisher won’t later decide to put it in third.

A lot of people argue over which is better. I can’t decide. I think first or third is fine. Either one can provide for a great read. The Stephanie Plum novels by Evanovich are in first person. The Otherworld series by Armstrong are in first person. Several romance novels are in first. This ought to work.

I also read books in third person a lot. They say writing in that way is harder. I don’t know if it is, but it just sounds right for certain books. It doesn’t matter the type, it just does. Sometimes it clicks, other times it doesn’t.

Yes, I’m procrastinating finishing by writing in this blog! Argh! :)
