So Help Me
March 20th, 2007 by Me
As I’ve mentioned, I spend a lot of time looking for new ways to organized. By the end of my search, I always end up with the same therory: organization takes a lot of time.
I personally like the simple life system. If you have enough stuff to do that you need to make a mile long list, you have too much to do. Okay, that doesn’t always work, but I realize that if I’m trying to organize my time this badly, I’ve got too much planned for the day.
My work comes in three catagories:
Fiction
Fun nonfiction
The stuff I do to pay the bills but don’t always love
Obviously, if fiction and nonfiction are paying pretty well, I dont have to do the last one. Usually, I schedule just enough of the last bit to pay the bills and a tiny bit more so I can concentrate on the other. Whenever the other starts paying regularly enough that savings piles up, I cut back a bit on the “stuff” and put more effort into the fun things.
And I’m such a moody writer.
I write either when I have a deadline or when I feel like it. Terrible. Usually feel like it at the worst times too, like right when I think I want to go to sleep.
Argh. And right now I’m all distracted.
I think the ADD is kicking in.
