The Secret You Already Knew

Yeah, I finally figured out what ‘The Secret’ was.
And you know what I thought of after? “Duh!” I already knew that. It’s all about positive thinking. What? Did the world suddenly go crazy? This has been done before and it is so obvious.
Obviously, if you focus on problems, you’ll only have problems. You have to look for solutions. No job? You don’t lounge around the apartment wondering what to do. You get off your duff and you dress your best and do your best at interviews. You have to mold yourself into a success.
There’s a trick I always use when I’m lacking the proper motivation when it comes to writing. I find someone whose work I admire and I find any article or interview I can on how that person writes. If he writes in the dark, I try that. If she writes only after she ate bananas, I try that. I like trying different things to inspire me. I like going with what (apparently) has worked for others. Mimicking those who have done it is a great way to get going.
So, like, why is everyone all of a sudden in ‘awe’ about The Secret? I don’t blame anyone for taking a look at it. We clearly need some form of high falutien (can’t spell that) marketing to impress upon people that thinking positive in the right way can help.
It’s not mysterious; it’s just fancy packaging.
Yes, I’m picking on it. 
I just wanted to point out these are not new tips. But, seems we need a refresher course anyway. This is the same stuff that Anthony Robbins and all those other gurus have been promoting for years and years. Plato and all those other philosphers were telling us about it too. But maybe it takes a ’sensation’ to get into our heads that we can make a difference.
We’ll see what difference it makes… one should always hope for the best I suppose.
