It’s no big secret anymore. Google and Yahoo and all those other search engines seem to want only one thing.

Content.

Website visitors only want one thing.

Content.

Is this a big surprise? When Google decided to change formats yet again, anyone with simply a link pointing from hundreds of web pages wasn’t enough. Now that web page needs content and the high quality stuff at that.

With these new goals in sight, many website owners are turning to free content websites to add content to their own web pages. Some are also looking for cheap content, content written in less than 10 minutes for $1 each. Will your site rank higher if you do this?

Every Great Website Should Have Some Article Content

As a website owner, you actually need to be the one submitting articles as well as taking articles in. Writing your own articles may seem to take a lot of time, but if you own a website, it’s your own investment. No one else should care more about your topic than you, at least in being able to please your website visitors. Writing your own articles doesn’t have to be too difficult.

You might also think that if you are a graphics website, a game website and other websites that have graphical theme, you really don’t have any use for articles. If nothing else, articles provide some more content to your ever growing website. Why not write an article on how to make graphics or how to beat the game? Every website can create some form of unique content that is helpful to readers.

Does it matter what you write? Yes. It should be focused to people who are buying what you are trying to sell. For example, if you sell frying pans, you’ll want content on how to use a frying pan, useful tips and tricks, recipes and more.

Google eats this stuff up for breakfast. Especially quality content. Here’s how.

Quality Content = Visitors Stay = Google and Search Engines Are Happy

You see, it’s not just about having content. Google actually tracks how long visitors stay, how many visit the site, if they scroll to the bottom of the page, etc. If all your visitors are doing is reading a few sentences and leaving, your ranking sinks and your site will appear lower in the search engines. Google search engines are figuring your site must not be the right site for this particular keyword.

This is why knowing what makes a search engine happy is important. Many wouldbe site owners spend $100s of dollars on 1000s of articles, only to continue to have to pay $100s for more content and build more sites because their sites keep sinking to the bottom of search engines.

Not only that, but now you have human monitors on Google as well. These human monitors will scout out sites, and if it’s of low quality, they’ll put in a form of grading. Don’t believe me? Check out Google’s Quality Rater Job. There’s one for nearly every country or language.

So it is important, to get your groove on with the search engines, to take time to write content, or pay a few more bucks, and make sure you get some quality content people are going to look at. If they keep coming back to you, you’re doing something right.
