Writing - A Religion
March 9th, 2008 by Me
We must be confused. Writing isn’t a career. It’s a religion.
- You submit regularly to entities you may never see.
- You follow a particular set of outlined rules. (Grammar, formatting, etc.)
- If you follow the guidelines, you shall be rewarded.
- If you don’t, you’re rejected, though you are given a chance to repent and do it right the next time.
- Many, if not most, ‘pray’ for inspiration, or the chance to prove ourselves worthy.
- You pass the words along so that others might read and become inspired.
Though to be honest, a finely written story or a completed poem that you cherish is just as much of a reward as is a published piece, if not more so.
