Writing Fears
July 14th, 2007 by Me
I’ve not been writing my fiction. I think it’s both procrastination and the “I don’t feel like it” syndrome.
I also think it is the same old fear. I’ll work so hard on this that I’ll fail. I’ll edit my novel completely and it will be rejected by everyone.
Ick. I know.
Well, here’s to fears. Because we all get them. Fear of success and failure can really tear you apart. You feel terrible when you have to write, you feel terrible that you didn’t.
We all do it at one time or another. It just means you have to get a schedule and stick to it. Open that document and stare at it for hours if need be. You’re not leaving the room unless you write five pages or whatever you choose it to be.
Alright. That’s my goal tomorrow. I have to sit and write one short story or five pages to a novel. Hm. I might make myself do both.
Note to self: I am not allowed to do anything else tomorrow until I write a short story and a chapter for a novel. I must also edit pages tomorrow.
Kick me if I don’t.
